Hazards outside the Home

  1. Algae- can be found in ponds or other bodies of water, some forms are toxic
  2. Antifreeze/Coolant- some types contain ethylene glycol, which is highly toxic to dogs and cats
  3. Fire pit/Grill- possibility of burn, ashes can cause illness if ingested
  4. Fences/Gates- may sure pet is not able to fit through
  5. Deck lattice- may sure pets can’t get stuck
  6. De-icing salts- look for products that are pet friendly
  7. Compost (particularly if moldy)
